Career Highlights
Army
2004 -2011. Neil was an Infantry soldier in 1 RAR and then 5/6 RVR. He completed tours of the Solomon Islands in 2006 and Afghanistan in 2007 as part of Operation Slipper.
Civilian Employment
From January 2022 to the present Neil has been a Teacher at Chisholm Institute where he is an educator in plumbing responsible for supporting, and preparing students to successfully complete certificates in Pre-Apprenticeship courses, Apprenticeship courses, Plumbing and Services, as well as Journeyman Exams.
Prior to that, Neil worked as mainly in the fields of commercial refrigeration and air conditioning as well as a stint working at the Ringwood Sub Branch after completing the VCE.
Neil has also owned his own business (Downrange Plumbing) which was licensed in Gas, Water, Sanitary, Mechanical Services and Roofing along with specialist licensing in Back-flow Prevention and Medical gas installations.
Community Activities
Neil joined the RSL on discharging from the ADF and he is currently a member of the Ringwood RSL Sub Branch.
With a colleague, Neil formed The Rising Sun Charity which is a non-for-profit charity initiated in 2021 to financially assist serving and ex-serving ADF men, woman, and their families in need.
He volunteers with the Montrose Football Club serving as Head Coach of the U11 Blue Montrose Football team.
He is an avid sports lover and Carlton Football Club supporter.
